March Newsletter

Hello CTC Family,

I have noticed more recently how general society needs to live by our Tae Kwon Do Tenets. We have people who smoke in front of our studio when kids are training – simple common courtesy would go a long way. We have top level business executives and politicians lacking any integrity by stealing from or misrepresenting the public. We have people demonstrating no self control by hurting or attacking innocent folks.

Happily, not all the news is bad. We witnessed some cases of incredible perseverance and indomitable spirit during the Winter Olympics. Athletes were able to overcome obstacles and injuries to achieve great results. I am very proud of the efforts of all the athletes, especially Team USA.

Please review our Tae Kwon Do Tenets (Definitions our kids understand)

Courtesy – Courteous behavior, considerate act or expression, being respectful
Integrity – The quality of being honest and fair
Perseverance – The quality that allows someone to continue trying to do something even though it is difficult
Self Control – Control over your feelings and/or actions
Indomitable Spirit – impossible to defeat or discourage. courage/strength/will

If more people lived by these tenets it would be a better world.

Sincerely, Sa Bom Nim/Coach Dan
