DAN BOYLE – CHIEF INSTRUCTOR

  • Dan has over 25 experience in Fitness Training, Martial Arts, Weight Training, Boxing & competitive sports.
  • Dan received his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do from Master Keith Jones of Marina Tae Kwon Do in Los Angeles, CA in March 1998. His certificate is registered at the Kuk Ki Won in Korea – World Tae Kwon Do Headquarters.
  • At Coronado Training Center we teach World Tae Kwon Federation Taegeuk forms and Olympic style sparring.
  • Master Jones was an alternate on the USA Olympic Tae Kwon Do team in 1980 and a certified Olympic referee.
  • Dan competed for Master Jones in local So. California Tournaments – poomses
  • Dan’s personal philosophy regarding training has been to master a style/discipline and then master another style to Black Belt level or equivalency. “All disciplines have advantages – my wide variety of training is included in all our programs. Tae Kwon Do specialists will learn many of the added bonuses of Muay Thai Kickboxing and vice versa.”
  • Dan has top level training in Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai Kickboxing and Boxing – training under several masters – most recently with Master Keith Jones, Master Beltran and Professional Boxing Trainer Ernest Johnson.
  • Dan has competed in martial arts & boxing tournaments as a competitor, coach, referee and judge.
  • Dan has hosted Amateur Boxing & Muay Thai kickboxing tournaments at his previous studio – Black Belt Martial Arts & Boxing in San Diego, CA. (Now known as Old School Boxing)
  • Additional training includes Kung Fu and Military Self Defense programs and seminars. Street self defense is very different than sport training.
  • Although Martial Arts’ is my passion I understand what it takes to compete at the highest level in other sports. I was 4 year member of the Westfield State College baseball team in Westfield, MA.
  • I competed in the 1984 NCAA baseball tournament. Many of my teammates were drafted and played professional baseball. However, I am most proud of our coach, Dave Jauss, who is the current bench coach for the New York Mets. Previously, he was the bench coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
  • Training under such highly recognized and proven leaders has really shaped my training style and focus.
  • I’ve run a fitness and weight loss camp for young overweight children and yet have trained students to become licensed California fighters. This wide variation is one of the many advantages why training at Coronado Training Center is so fun, focused and beneficial to our students. We train from novice to professional.
  • As a parent, Dan understands the pressures on today’s parents and children and takes great pride in developing students mentally and physically. “It’s extremely rewarding to see students improve their skills and gain confidence and improve their self esteem,” states Dan. Our training is based on discipline and respect but we don’t lose sight of the fact that training should be fun and rewarding.
