Event Highlights:

• Gather family together to celebrate the end of Summer
• Demonstration Team – performing breaks, forms, etc.
• Play games and hang out with classmates outside the studio
• Celebrate our different cultures by experiencing some different foods from our students’ family heritage.

Coronado Training Center will provide Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and Water and we ask our guests to bring a main dish from their heritage. We have students from many countries throughout the world and we feel it would be fun to celebrate and share our ethnic dishes. Not in the mood to cook? That’s okay! Maybe you could bring a dessert or chips/ice/soda.

June Newsletter

Hello CTC Family,

Congratulations to all our students who completed the 2010-2011 school year. As a teacher and parent, I’m proud of every student who continually advances in life although I am always amazed how quickly our youth develop into more mature individuals.

On a personal note, I wanted to recognize my own daughter, Abigail, promoting from Village elementary. Next year – CMS – WOW! Also, Nicole Heidenreich, who helps teach our Little Dragons class is a Coronado High School 2011 graduate.

Coronado Training Center Tae Kwon Do training and development is structured as school systems are organized. We start kindergarten (Little Dragons) then move on to elementary school (Level 1 &2 class). Our next step is middle school (Level 3). Our advancement then reaches high school (Level 4 ) with our final goal to graduate and hopefully move on to college and have a rewarding career. Our level 4 class leads to pre test for Black Belt and then to the most recognized martial arts goal – A Black Belt or your diploma. Hopefully you will teach tae kwon do as a part time job while in high school or college.

The challenges in both curriculums are the same, as we advance in our development, the challenges become more difficult but we have the base from our earlier training to face these obstacles head on and become a better person from our efforts.

During the summer we may take an occasional vacation but just as you should read over the summer you should stay diligent in your training. Remember, I don’t give you a Black Belt – you earn it!

To all our Little Dragons – Congratulations on your recent promotions. In May 95% of our littlest students had to perform in front of fellow students, family members and friends. They had to demonstrate kicks, punches and blocks in order to advance. They all performed very well with the highlight being the impressive board breaks. Congrats to all and special thanks to our newest students who weren’t able to test yet but watched with courtesy and respect. Please view some of the great pictures taken by Rachel Stella (parent of Dylan Stella – a tae kwon do red belt)

Remember, students on a month-to-month agreement must give a 30 day Written Notice and a final payment is required whether you are stopping your training for month or permanently. Contracts must be honored in their entirety.

Dear CTC Family,

National Women’s Health Week empowers women to make their health a top priority. It also encourages them to take steps to improve their physical and mental health and lower their risk of certain diseases. Those steps include:

*Getting at least 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate physical activity, 1 hour and 15 minutes of vigorous physical activity, or a combination of both, each week.
*Eating a nutritious diet
*Visiting a health care professional to receive regular checkups and preventative screenings.
*Avoiding risky behaviors, such as smoking and not wearing a seatbelt.
*Paying attention to mental health, including getting enough sleep and managing stress.

Moms: You are the official Sa Bom Nim on Sunday! If your children don’t do as you ask, tell me and they’ll do pushups on Monday. haha

We are adding new programs to our facility and it is important that we remain respectful and courteous if we are sitting in the lobby. We may be having 2 classes happening simultaneously. Please NO loud talking or cell phone use. We have seats outside for your convenience to view your children.

New Programs Beginning in May 2011:

  • May 3rd – Zumba with Shea Hawthorne Tuesday and Thursday 10:15am
  • May 11th – Spinning & TRX with Cindy Webster Mon – Sat see our schedule
  • May 30th – Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Aaron Hernandez and Mark Hawes Mon/Tues @ 6:00pm and Wednesday at noon.

We offer our facility for Birthday parties and other events i.e. Quinceaneras, graduation parties. Current students receive a discount.

Also, a big “Thank You!” to all our customers and families.  You make Coronado Training Center special. Thanks!
