February Newsletter

Hello CTC Family,

Well 2010 is starting out with much success for many of our Tae Kwon Do students. We have had some big groups testing and a lot of family support. I’m quite pleased that grandparents were able to see their grandchildren perform our sport. Several families have visited from Chile, Sweden and many parts of the USA. Although Tae Kwon Do is the most practiced martial in the world it is still very foreign to many folks. They were quite pleased to watch and learn about Tae Kwon Do. I’m honored and pleased by the great feedback, from many family members, stating the positive effect Coronado Training Center and Tae Kwon Do has had on their child’s development.

Additionally, visiting family members have often mentioned they can’t believe the progress all our students have made. They appreciate my efforts and the atmosphere of our studio. Let me say, I appreciate the efforts of our students and their willingness to better themselves as martial artists and human beings. It is quite rewarding to see a child grow and develop. Over the last few years I have seen some young boys/girls start to become young men/women. I look at pictures when they were White Belts and stood up to my chest level but now they are Blue/Brown Belts and stand chin level or higher.

THANK YOU TO ALL MEMBERS OF OUR CORONADO TRAINING CENTER FAMILY

Sincerely, Sa Bom Nim/Coach Dan

Hello CTC Family,

We are very excited for 2010. We are creating a new brand, logo, marketing pieces and a heavy focus on internet marketing and social networks. Dani Marie Designs (Christian Richardson’s parents – a tae kwon do student) will use their expertise to keep us current and cutting edge. So please Fan Us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and You Tube. We would appreciate some reviews for our potential students’ families. As a novice to social networking I would appreciate the support. As Fans we can continue to build our family martial arts training center.

On Monday February 1, 2010 we will be slightly adjusting our schedule to help continue the growth of our Tae Kwon Do and Muay Thai programs. (Most students will be not be affected in any manner)

I am excited to announce a Level 4 Tae Kwon Do Class. As our students continue to earn higher ranks it is essential to add a level 4 class which will consist of our oldest and highest ranking students joining our adult class which will be moved to 6:00pm on Mon/Wed/Fri. We will notify students individually if they will be moving up. However, if there is a conflict in the new time please speak to Sa Bom Nim.

I’m starting to see Black Belts in the future. The reality is slowly coming together. Keep up the great training, focus and commitment.

I wanted to thank everyone for a great year. I truly appreciate that you have helped me create a family martial arts studio. I have seen many of our youngest students improve their confidence, coordination, self esteem and overall attitude to society/people.

I get my greatest thrill in seeing a child develop as a good person with respect and discipline as our foundation. All of our students kicks and punches have improved and I know they are proud of their accomplishments i.e. higher belt rank for our Tae Kwon Do students or better techniques and endurance for our Muay Thai students. However, I truly appreciate their improved development as a human being. Don’t get me wrong I love seeing improved martial arts skills and board breaks.

Our adults continually impress me with their focus and commitment to their physical and mental health that our training provides. I know how the demands in our lives can be difficult but taking care of your health is essential. Our classes have helped many students reduce their stress, feel better about themselves and lose weight.

Enjoy the Holiday Season but remember it is imperative to keep your attendance up during these busy and festive times. We will be here to help you meet your personal goals.

Again, Thank You for training hard and being part of our fitness family.

Sincerely,

Sa Bom Nim/Coach – Dan Boyle

November’s Newsletter

Hello CTC Family,

I wanted to speak about the one of our disciplines we offer at Coronado Training Center. Muay Thai also known as Thai Boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing or The Art of Eight Limbs is the main martial art practiced in Thailand.

Muay Thai has a long history in Thailand as the country’s national sport. Muay Thai is referred to as the “Science of Eight Limbs”, as hands, knees, shins, and elbows are all used extensively in this sport. A master practioner of Muay Thai thus has the ability to execute strikes using eight “Points of Contact” as opposed to “Two Points”(fists) in Boxing and “Four Points”(fists/feet) in a traditional sport such as Tae Kwon Do.

Muay Thai is often considered a great art form for street self defense. We teach Muay Thai as a sport and for street self defense. In either case, we stress what we teach to be used only in tournaments or real life self defense situations. If we discover what we teach is abused, that student will not be allowed to train at our facility. We teach to respect the Art form and all people. Most of our students train to get in great shape and have fun but competitions are available for our more serious students.

Many parents notice their child’s demeanor improve as well as their overall attitude to school, friends, parents, teachers and siblings.

Sincerely,

Sa Bom Nim/Coach – Dan Boyle
