Hello CTC Family,
I read this quote the other day and thought it was a good way to conduct ourselves in life.

”What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us”

I have always stated that I’m most proud of our students character development more than who has the best kick or punch. Yet again this weekend, I had a parent tell me how amazed he was that Tae kwon Do has helped his daughter’s confidence and how much she has grown. These are the best compliments I can receive. Thank You!

Please enjoy your Holiday season with family. Lori, Abby and I truly appreciate that you have chosen to train with us at Coronado Training Center. We realize you have other choices and we always try to meet you and/or your families expectations. We will have some more exciting changes happening in December and January 2012. We would like your feedback when the projects are completed.

Again, Thank You for choosing CTC

Hello CTC Family,

Congratulations to all our students who completed the 2010-2011 school year. As a teacher and parent, I’m proud of every student who continually advances in life although I am always amazed how quickly our youth develop into more mature individuals.

On a personal note, I wanted to recognize my own daughter, Abigail, promoting from Village elementary. Next year – CMS – WOW! Also, Nicole Heidenreich, who helps teach our Little Dragons class is a Coronado High School 2011 graduate.

Coronado Training Center Tae Kwon Do training and development is structured as school systems are organized. We start kindergarten (Little Dragons) then move on to elementary school (Level 1 &2 class). Our next step is middle school (Level 3). Our advancement then reaches high school (Level 4 ) with our final goal to graduate and hopefully move on to college and have a rewarding career. Our level 4 class leads to pre test for Black Belt and then to the most recognized martial arts goal – A Black Belt or your diploma. Hopefully you will teach tae kwon do as a part time job while in high school or college.

The challenges in both curriculums are the same, as we advance in our development, the challenges become more difficult but we have the base from our earlier training to face these obstacles head on and become a better person from our efforts.

During the summer we may take an occasional vacation but just as you should read over the summer you should stay diligent in your training. Remember, I don’t give you a Black Belt – you earn it!

To all our Little Dragons – Congratulations on your recent promotions. In May 95% of our littlest students had to perform in front of fellow students, family members and friends. They had to demonstrate kicks, punches and blocks in order to advance. They all performed very well with the highlight being the impressive board breaks. Congrats to all and special thanks to our newest students who weren’t able to test yet but watched with courtesy and respect. Please view some of the great pictures taken by Rachel Stella (parent of Dylan Stella – a tae kwon do red belt)

Remember, students on a month-to-month agreement must give a 30 day Written Notice and a final payment is required whether you are stopping your training for month or permanently. Contracts must be honored in their entirety.

Dear CTC Family,

The New Year is off to a wonderful start. We have several new students who have joined our Little Dragon and Tae Kwon Do programs. Welcome!

I wanted to review the testing criteria used in order to promote. The beginner level students are eligible to test approximately every 2 months providing they have been consistent in their training. Also, that they have averaged 2 1/2 times per week of training. Additionally, they must have complete knowledge of their requirements and have shown good behavior and respect. They must demonstrate these skills in their entirety the class prior to testing. Our goal is to have the test be a challenging and positive experience. Therefore, performing only partial knowledge isn’t acceptable.

Once a student reaches Blue Belt, they are now considered an intermediate student and will be judged slightly more strictly. Those tests occur roughly every 3 months and have all the same expectations as the beginner students.
Finally, our advanced students Red Belts test every 6 months as they begin their review for Black Belt testing. All levels require parent and teacher signed forms.
